Finding the perfect meeting space or corporate event venue isn’t always an easy decision. There’s pressure to impress guests, accommodating their needs while ensuring your goals are met. The location you choose sets the tone for success right off the bat. Enter The Powerhouse by Rich Entertainment Group, one of Buffalo’s most unique industrial event spaces. After years of being left for abandonment following decades of success, this building has been re-envisioned as the perfect space for your next event.
It’s Part of Buffalo History
Buffalo’s past includes a long era of manufacturing dominance, which is how The Powerhouse first came to be. Originally built in 1917 as The Schoellkopf Powerhouse, the building was used for dye and colorant manufacturing for the textile industry. In the mid-1970s, owner Allied Chemical sold the building to Buffalo Color Corporation, who continued operations for 25 more years. After Buffalo Color closed its doors, the building sat vacant for just about a decade, until new ownership committed to a multi-million dollar renovation in 2008. Much like the redevelopment that the city of Buffalo has experienced in recent years, The Powerhouse has completely transformed into an epicenter of entertainment.
It Has a Lot of Unique Features
This industrial event space offers 22,000 square feet of interior and exterior use. Inside, there are two large interior rooms that can be used separately or together. The original brickwork, floor-to-ceiling windows, Georgian-esque arches and graffiti lend the space an urban industrial feel.
The venue’s exterior spaces add another level of intrigue. There are three outdoor patios furnished for guests. There are also fire pits for evening events.
“We have a rooftop patio space that has a picture-perfect backdrop of the City of Buffalo. The view from there is unmatched by any other corporate event space in the area,” shared Steve Guagliardi, Director of Catering & Event Design for Rich’s Catering & Special Events.
It Comes With Access to the Rich’s Catering Team
Planning an event is often stressful; choosing a venue is only the first step. However, selecting The Powerhouse as your corporate event space gives you access to Rich’s Catering & Special Events team, along with their event planning, design, dining and decor capabilities.
“Not only do clients get a beautiful event space, they also get a team to help plan the entire event. We can help bring any event dreams to life thanks to relationships we’ve built with premier and professional vendors. We even team up with our bakery, Frost Artisan Bakery, and use The Travel Team to bring clients the best possible event experience,” Steve said.
It’s a Versatile and Modern Space to Host Conferences or Corporate Events
Since relaunching as an industrial event space, The Powerhouse has hosted its fair share of events. From weddings and galas to corporate gatherings, holiday parties, graduations, trade shows and public markets, there’s no limit on how you can transform this venue.
Because The Powerhouse is so versatile, it’s an ideal location for conferences in particular. Indoor and outdoor spaces, breakaway rooms or combined-space layouts open the door for a range of corporate events. The venue supports private seminars, industry trade shows, keynote speakers, company-wide conferences, and any and everything in between.
Hosting a conference or corporate event at The Powerhouse is a great space to accommodate all of your needs. Whether you are a small conference of 100 people or a large one of up to 600 or more, you’ll have meeting spaces and setups available to suit your needs. In addition to being a modern option for a conference location, the venue is a great way to diversify your event offerings: client meetings, after parties and even group dinners that attendees have after conference hours.
“With the venue space being so flexible with its layout, it can really accommodate any event style or size. We can host small intimate events as well as large weeklong conferences. We work with our clients to successfully plan what they have in mind for their event within our space. The venue is a blank slate, and it is very easy to get creative and bring a new look to each and every event,” Steve said.
